Veterinarians Without Borders

Catalyste+-Logo-RGB.png

Veterinarians Without Borders North America (VWB) is a mission-driven organization working at the intersection of animal,

human, and environmental health. Guided by a One Health approach, we partner with communities in Sub-Saharan Africa,

Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America to strengthen animal health systems, support sustainable livelihoods, and improve

health outcomes for all species.

We believe healthy animals lead to healthier people and more resilient environments. That’s why we integrate veterinary

services, public health, environmental sustainability, and gender equity into everything we do.

VWB's Theory of Change

VWB Volunteer Voices

Meet 6 Canadian volunteers on assignment in rural Kenya through VWB's VETS (Volunteers Engaged in Gender-Responsive Technical Solutions) program. These volunteers came from diverse backgrounds to share their knowledge and learn from local farmers, empowering communities through animal health, gender equity, and sustainable farming practices.

Why Volunteer with VWB?

Support local organizations: Volunteers support our partner organizations to make a positive difference in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.

Give and grow: Volunteers contribute to meaningful initiatives and gain personal benefits by sharing skills in complex and interesting contexts.

Be inspired: Volunteers often return to their lives and jobs inspired and refreshed, with a renewed sense of passion for animal welfare and international cooperation.

Expand your mind: Volunteers experience new countries and cultures, learning firsthand about the interconnected world we share.
